Clissold Park User Group

CPUG has existed for more than twenty-five years and is open to everyone who uses or cares about Clissold Park.
The group is run by local volunteers who meet up to help make the park better for everyone. They work in partnership with the Council and others to fund and run small scale events in the park.

St Mary's Centre

This award-winning centre is home to a wide range of community groups and organisations but still has room for you! Whether you want to join a choir, run a workshop, meditate, volunteer at the cafe, organise a conference, have a party or run a kids play session.

This community website offers information about activities and events for families in and around Stoke Newington as well as info on schools, nurseries and children's centres.

Cargo Bike Share

You can now rent an electrically assisted cargo bike in Stokey through the Beryl app. It can carry up to 80kg - and can be used for shopping, deliveries, and moving small items of furniture. It costs £1.50 to unlock a bike and 10p per minute thereafter. Return the cargo bike to the same docking station you hired it from.

Local Buyers Club

Stoke Newington has its own shop-local card. Many independent shops, restaurants and pubs in the area (and in other parts of London) offer savings to Local Buyers Club members. Membership costs just £15 per year. Join for half price with the code SEEYOUINSTOKEY.

Sfumato Art Studio

Private art studio with a full schedule of classes available for artists of all ages and stages - helping students develop their creative skills using the basic techniques of classical painting.

Stoke Newington Library

Open Monday to Thursday 10am-8pm, Fridays 10am-6pm, Saturdays 10am-5pm, Sundays 1-5pm – call 020 8356 5235 or email libraries@hackney.gov.uk. Library members can also borrow audiobooks and e-books for free via the London Libraries Consortium.

Stokey Pop Up

Fabulous versatile events space on the High Street, available to rent for a couple of days or longer. Great for art exhibitions, culture, brands, events, start-ups , pop-up shops and wellbeing.

The Old Church

As well as operating as a community arts space, this beautiful venue is sometimes available to hire and is a beautiful, atmospheric space for parties.

Clissold Park Tennis Courts

The courts are operated by Hackney Tennis and are available to book. There's also a great local tennis league for those wanting to play more regularly.

Pharmacies

Safedale has pharmacies on the corner of Albion Road and Church St, at the junction of Bouverie Rd and Church St and at 162 Green Lanes (near Clissold Park). Most are open between 9am and 6.30pm. Benjamin Chemist (190 Stoke Newington High Street) is open Monday-Saturday 9am-6pm.

Smart Room

Need somewhere local to store stuff? Smart Room is an independent storage facility in Stoke Newington and they offer doorstep collection and delivery.

Stokey Energy

Established by a group of local residents experienced in sustainable energy policy, planning and regeneration, construction and solar panel installation, Stokey Energy is on a mission to make Stoke Newington carbon neutral.

Stokey Walking Group

This group is open to everyone and will help with fitness, getting to know the local area, meeting new people and improving your mental health. Dogs, prams and children are welcome but they need to be able to keep pace.

The Old Fire Station

This vibrant community centre is home to a number of charities and not-for-profit groups and organisations. It's also a place where local people can run and attend community classes and events, and somewhere for you to host a children’s party, family gathering or special event.
